dc.description.abstract The disease of the Infectious Hypodermal and Hematopoietic Necrosis Virus (IHHNV) causes high mortality rate in L. stylirostris and also Runt – Deformity Syndrome (RDS) in Penaeus vannamei. This affects in a significant way to the economy of the fishery sector. The objective of this work was to identify a direct relation between the prevalence of IHHNV in reproductive females worked in Chongon and its lineage concerning post larvae 14. Both were cultivated in two production systems located in the coasts of Mar Bravo and San Pablo, Ecuador. Two lots with a difference of production of 60 days in average were analyzed, totalizing: 72 reproducers and 200 post larvae. The IHHNV prevalence was evaluated, by means of the simple system of detection PCR. Were significant differences (p<0.5) with a correlation coefficient r = 0.99592, between the prevalence of its parent with respect to its lineage, which would suggest a probable vertical transmission. Nevertheless, more studies are required to determine which the contribution of its ancestors towards its lineage is. en
