| es_EC |

| dc.description.abstractenglish | Between October 2016 and March 2017, in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador, samples of particulate material corresponding to PM2.5 and PM1 were collected in real time using a gravimetric device called HAZ DUST EPAM 5000 High sensitivity that measures one particle size at a time. The information was collected according to the sampling points selected for taking the measurements of PM2.5 and PM1, which were: Industrial Sector, City Center, Cement Sector and Residential Sector, characterized by having high commercial demand, vehicular traffic, as well as commercial and residential activities. At the same time, meteorological variables such as temperature, direction and wind speed, precipitation as a dichotomous variable in case of existence or not, and anthropogenic activity variables such as traffic were considered for the measurement. The objective of the integrating project is to obtain a multivariate model for the prediction of PM2.5 and PM1 from environmental, meteorological variables and physical eventualities in the city of Guayaquil. Using data from sampling and secondary sources, a data matrix was constructed with environmental, meteorological and anthropogenic variables, capable of predicting the behavior of fine particles PM2.5 and PM1 from other sizes of particles, temperature, precipitation history, etc. Finally, a smoothed multiple regression model was constructed to estimate average hourly concentrations of PM2.5 and PM1, and establish the influence of the meteorological and anthropogenic variables. The variance of PM1 is explained in more than 17.4 % of cases from these variables (R2 = 0.158; p <0.000277, GCV = 80.245) and that of PM2.5, is explained in 15.8% of cases from ((R2 = 0.143; p <0.00000833) The model was validated verifying the normality and constant variance of the model residues and the diagnosis on the degree of smoothing of the model is added.. |
