Abstract:
El proyecto se centra en el diseño de un sistema de recolección y tratamiento de aguas residuales en la parroquia de San Cristóbal, cantón Paute, con el objetivo de mitigar problemas de salud pública y contaminación ambiental. Se plantea que el 13,11% de la población sufre enfermedades relacionadas con el agua, lo que justifica la necesidad de un sistema adecuado. Para su desarrollo, se utilizaron tuberías de PVC corrugado y pozos de registro, siguiendo normativas técnicas. Los resultados indican que la implementación del sistema no solo mejorará la calidad del agua, sino que también contribuirá al desarrollo económico local al atraer inversiones. Las conclusiones destacan la urgencia de construir el sistema para mejorar la salud pública y el medio ambiente, alineándose con proyecciones de crecimiento poblacional. Se recomienda priorizar la construcción, realizar campañas educativas sobre el manejo de desechos y establecer un programa de mantenimiento para asegurar la operatividad del sistema a largo plazo.

The project focuses on the design of a wastewater collection and treatment system in the parish of San Cristóbal, canton Paute, with the objective of mitigating public health problems and environmental contamination. It is proposed that 13.11% of the population suffers from water-related diseases, which justifies the need for an adequate system. For its development, corrugated PVC pipes and manholes were used, following technical standards. The results indicate that the implementation of the system will not only improve water quality, but will also contribute to local economic development by attracting investment. The conclusions highlight the urgency of building the system to improve public health and the environment, in line with population growth projections. It is recommended to prioritize construction, conduct educational campaigns on waste management, and establish a maintenance program to ensure the long-term operability of the system.
