Estructuración del entorno regulatorío adecuado del Ecuador para facilitar la implementación de la banda ancha móvil

Abstract

This study analyzes the global status of mobile broadband, global statistics on this service, deployed regional networks, and policies implemented by some countries to ensure their optimal development. Mobile broadband is now pursuing the most traffic on Internet, and for this reason, is considered the best tool to eliminate the digital divide between each country. In the same way, they are studied the suitable frequency bands for the implementation of mobile broadband technology, the spectrum valuation, the reassignment of the digital dividend due its greater coverage it is ideal for rural and marginal urban areas and the advantage of the AWS band which offers greater speeds in urban areas, although it has less coverage than the 850 MHz and the 700 MHz. Furthermore, it is structured the action plan to facilitate the implementation of mobile broadband in Ecuador for the purpose of expanding the service and ensuring the universal access to the Ecuadorian population, and thus meet the national targets set for building the Society of Information in the country.
