Description:	Las Islas Galápagos es importante por su diversidad única y su aporte a la economía de Ecuador. Pero para llegar a la mayoría de estas islas se usan lanchas interislas, sin embargo, en los últimos años estas lanchas han sido parte de varios accidentes. Actualmente no existen regulaciones específicas para este tipo de lanchas. Por este motivo tenemos como objetivo analizar el desarrollo del transporte interislas en las Islas Galápagos para mejorar el servicio a través de recomendaciones alineadas con las disposiciones de los entes reguladores. Este proyecto se realizó en las Isla Santa Cruz en donde se recopilo información mediante entrevistas a turistas, autoridades, habitantes y operadoras. Se obtuvieron como resultado de las entrevistas la identificación de factores que pudieron causar estos accidentes, necesidades, desafíos, opiniones y perspectiva de los encuestados. Se concluyo que es importante la capacitación del capitán y tripulación además las lanchas deben estar en óptimas condiciones usando un nuevo equipo de salvamento. Se debe exigir un plan de mantenimiento mas riguroso a las lanchas. Para futuros trabajos se recomienda el diseño de una lancha especifica que cumpla los requerimientos para estos viajes.
metadata.dc.description.abstractenglish:	The Galapagos Islands are important for their unique diversity and their contribution to Ecuador's economy. However, to reach most of these islands interisland boats are used, however, in recent years these boats have been involved in several accidents. Currently there are no specific regulations for this type of boats. For this reason, our objective is to analyze the development of inter-island transport in the Galapagos Islands to improve the service through recommendations aligned with the provisions of the regulatory bodies. This project was carried out on Santa Cruz Island where information was collected through interviews with tourists, authorities, inhabitants, and operators. The interviews resulted in the identification of factors that could have caused these accidents, needs, challenges, opinions and perspectives of the respondents. It was concluded that it is important to train the captain and crew, and the boats should be in optimal condition using new rescue equipment. A more rigorous maintenance plan should be required for the boats. For future work, it is recommended that a specific boat be designed to meet the requirements for these trips.
