Variabilidad espacio temporal de aves presente en el bosque y vegetación protector Prosperina

Abstract

The study of bird diversity is essential for ecosystem conservation, as these species play key ecological roles. This research analyzes the Spatio-temporal variability of the bird community in the Prosperina Protected Forest and Vegetation (BVPP), Guayaquil, Ecuador. Bird counts were conducted in three transects (SM, SA, SF) during morning and afternoon surveys. Species richness was assessed using Chao1 and Margalef indices, while abundance was analyzed through heatmaps. Beta diversity was examined using NMDS based on Bray-Curtis and Jaccard indices. PERMANOVA was applied to determine the influence of environmental variables, and Generalized Linear Models (GLM) were used to evaluate their impact on bird abundance. The results show significant variations in species composition between transects and overtime, with higher diversity in areas with greater vegetation cover. It is concluded that the BVPP bird community is influenced by environmental and spatial factors, highlighting the importance of continuous monitoring for conservation strategies.
