| es_EC |
dc.description.abstract | Due to ship incidents which happened in the Galapagos Islands. The dynamic and static behavior of high-speed crafts is studied with the objective of determining the load conditions that may lead them to capsize. They were applied the criteria of Porpoising, Chine walking, maximum dynamic KG and Dead-Ship, which were programmed through python language. 3 experiments were performed to the ships: incline, roll balance and logarithmic decrement. The simplified Ikeda’s method was implemented to determine the damping coefficient. The results show that the craft 0075 does not have affinity with Dead-Ship but it is stable in Chine Walking, the craft 1132 may suffer from Dead-Ship in any of the three considered loading conditions, but it is on the limit in Chine Walking. The vessel 1202 may suffer from Dead-Ship in the third loading condition and it has instability in Chine Walking. It is concluded that the crafts are stable in porpoising and due to their forms, do not have good performance neither with Dead- Ship nor with the simplified Ikeda’s method and it is recommended to carry out controls of the damping coefficient and the weight of the ship because they are very important for the accuracy of stability analysis. Finally, the stabilizers help to reduce the dynamic KG at high speed. Keywords: Porpoising, Damping coefficient, Simplified Ikeda’s method, Dead-Ship | es_EC |
