Diseño estructural e hidrosanitario de una vivienda de dos plantas en el Guasmo, Guayaquil

Abstract

CONDITION FOR PUBLICATION OF PROJECT. Guayaquil is located in a highly seismic zone because Ecuador is located on the Ring of Fire. This presents us as civil engineers with various challenges regarding the structural safety of its buildings. This project is being developed in southern Guayaquil, on the banks of the Guayas River, a location with a high-water table, which increases the vulnerability of buildings in the area. We have a house dating from the 1980s, making it a very old building, a structure that has not been maintained. It presents several structural and habitability issues. The house is uneven with the sidewalk, and the current columns and beams do not meet the necessary requirements to withstand seismic movements. Our objective with this project is to redesign the home's structural structure, with an optimized structural system that guarantees greater safety, stability, and durability. It incorporates structural elements appropriate to the site conditions and the client's requirements, as well as new plumbing systems that ensure efficient and safe access to drinking water, based on NEC-15 and ACI 318-19. In this way, we seek to guarantee the home's habitability and safety, adapting it to current seismic regulations and improving its functionality and aesthetics.
