Homelessness is a persistent problem in most of Latin America and affects mainly the fastest growing urban centers, given the large migration flow they experience. Guayaquil is the commercial of Ecuador, the country's main port, which places context at the same time as the city with the highest concentration of rural migrants from Ecuador, which sets a problem of poverty and marginalization. The project will develop in the province of Guayas, Guayaquil canton exactly, the provincial capital. This is a strategic place because, as mentioned earlier, the city of Guayaquil to be leading the commercial and domestic port suffers from a latent problem: a high rate of internal migration from the rural sector, marginalized and underserved population by successive governments, which have set up a growing suburb, devoid of any service and relegated to the periphery of the city, creating huge shantytowns. An important aspect of this process is to improve the living conditions of poor families and in this sense, housing is of great importance cardinal. The program causes a fundamental change: getting families to save and cherish the importance of this practice. Participants pass the savings as a prerequisite of the program and they are able to provide additional funds for the improvement of their homes. The program acted as a catalyst for investment in housing and helping families plan for the future. A strategy of promoting popular savings plays a key role in promoting equity, social and geographic integration and efficiency of the production of small and micro enterprises that make up the majority of employment-generating sector.en
