Abstract:
The city of Salitre is known for its agricultural and livestock activities, making it an ideal location for the development of experiential tourism. The client requires the construction of a reception area for a ranch with ample space to incorporate large windows that allow natural light and air to enter. The objective of this project is to design the structure of a two-story building using a system composed of steel and concrete, complemented by shear walls, to create a large, column-free space. For the structural design, the national NEC standard, as well as the international AISC and ACI standards, were applied. The sections were then checked using a structural modeling program. The results confirm that the design complies with the requirements set forth by the NEC, with vibration periods and drifts below the established limits to resist seismic loads. The integration of shear walls provides stiffness to the structure and allows for the reduction of column and beam sections, facilitating the creation of wide-open spaces. The use of BIM methodology ensures that the plans and material quantities are closely aligned with reality. Additionally, the proposed integration of biodigesters and solar panels promotes sustainability at the site.

El cantón Salitre se destaca por actividades agropecuarias, ideal para el desarrollo del turismo vivencial. El cliente necesita construir una recepción para una hacienda con espacios amplios para integrar grandes ventanales que permitan la entrada de aire y luz natural. Por lo que el presente proyecto tiene como objetivo diseñar la estructura de una edificación de dos niveles utilizando un sistema compuesto de acero y concreto, complementado con muros de corte, para la creación de un espacio amplio sin columnas. Para el diseño estructural se utilizó la normativa nacional NEC y las normativas internacionales AISC y ACI. Luego, se comprobaron las secciones por medio de un programa de modelado estructural. Los resultados garantizan que el diseño cumple con los requisitos establecidos por la NEC con períodos de vibración y derivas por debajo del límite establecido para resistir cargas sísmicas. La integración de muros aporta rigidez a la estructura y permite tener secciones de columnas y vigas reducidas permitiendo creación de espacios amplios. La metodología BIM permite tener planos y cantidades de materiales más cercanos a la realidad. Mientras que la sugerencia de integración de biodigestores y paneles solares promueven la sostenibilidad en el sitio.
