Description:	En las distintas urbanizaciones ubicadas en Chongón, provincia del Guayas, se presentan daños en la estructura de pavimento, debido al uso indebido, mal sistema de drenaje y la estructura deficiente en el sector. El objetivo del proyecto es realizar un rediseño de la estructura existente identificando las causas de los distintos problemas, mediante inspecciones visuales y ensayos de laboratorio, mejorando la seguridad, estabilidad y confort. Se utilizaron métodos de diseño, que aseguran la optimización de recursos, reducción de la huella ambiental y del costo del proyecto, además se consideraron los impactos ambientales generados por el proyecto y planes de mitigación para disminuir el impacto ambiental. Los resultados mostraron que la estructura existente no corresponde a un pavimento flexible, debido a que su diseño no consta de los requisitos mínimos necesarios dictados en las normativas nacionales e internacionales. Se concluye que se debe realizar la demolición de la estructura existente junto con los bordillos cuneta y sumideros dañados para posteriormente construir una estructura nueva que respete las normas y asegure el bienestar de los residentes. metadata.dc.description.abstractenglish:	In the different urbanizations located in Chongon, province of Guayas, there is damage to the pavement structure, due to improper use, poor drainage system and deficient structure in the sector. The objective of the project is to redesign the existing structure by identifying the causes of the different problems, through visual inspections and laboratory tests, improving safety, stability and comfort. Design methods were used, which ensure the optimization of resources, reduction of the environmental footprint and the cost of the project, in addition to considering the environmental impacts generated by the project and mitigation plans to reduce the environmental impact. The results showed that the existing structure does not correspond to a flexible pavement, because its design does not consist of the minimum necessary requirements dictated in national and international regulations. It is concluded that the demolition of the existing structure must be carried out along with the damaged curbs, gutters and drains to later build a new structure that respects the standards and ensures the well-being of the residents.
